Be careful when getting a quote for a CCTV survey. I can't give a completely negative review, nor anywhere near a positive one, but this review is more of a word of caution for anyone looking to have a CCTV survey, and to understand that the 'set quote' may not be the final quote as potential higher fees may occur. This was our experience - Happy Drains have a set quote for a CCTV survey of £185 + VAT. There is a disclaimer on their website which notes that a abandonment fee may occur of £90 + VAT, which we understood and confirmed with the work to be carried out. On the day of the visit, we received a phone call which said a abandonment fee will be added and a new quote to complete the survey. We then received the new quote of £845 + VAT. The original set quote of £185 + VAT vs the new quote £845 + VAT is significantly higher (4.5 times higher) so this came to a huge surprise. They provided a short summary to explain the increase (which essentially required another camera), and we decided not to continue, but had to pay the abandonment fee invoice. In short, no survey was carried out and we had to pay £90 + VAT just to get a quote. I would advise the company to be more transparent to customers that much higher fees may occur depending on circumstances, and be candid of the quote range, rather than the marketing tactic of the '£185 + VAT set fee', which is very misleading. We since received a quote from another company who stated what the quote could be based on a number of factors, which we appreciated. To note, the house in a standard three bedroom detached house.
Happy Drains? More like Happy customers. Came same day, sorted the problem that I spent a few hours attempting to fix on my own. Cheaper than even the hourly rate I got quoted by a competitor. As long as my drain doesn't mysteriously block again 2 days later, which I have no reason to believe it will, then I am a very happy man. Friendly staff too! Not a single complaint from me, massively relieved I reach out this morning.
Amazing team in Essex/Grays area, came on Tuesday and sort out my blocked drain, camera, full deatils and update through the process, call from the team with full deatils of the issue. Thank you very much, I can say such a service have not recieved for a long time. Well done guys and you are great (if I ever need again, you will be the one to call )
