5.0 / 5 · 64 totalWe first contacted Mike at Gordon Hatton last year to carry out a survey on a house we were in the process of buying. His team carried out a thorough inspection of the septic tank/drainage and gave a detailed report and phonecall to go through the results. From speaking to Mike, it become quickly apparent that he is very knowledgeable with all aspects of drainage, septic tanks/treatment plants and the regulations that go along with selling/purchasing a property. We ended up buying the house and booked a new treatment plant install and it was completed recently. The team that carried out the work were brilliant, very easy to have around, worked hard and completed the work to a high standard. Even building a small brick housing for the compressor. We also had an extra complication that our old septic tank was in a neighbour's field, Mike took the time to communicate with the land owner and let them know the full process and what it would look like going through the works. The team came back after about 2 months to see how the ground had settled and make good on the area the treatment plant was installed, leaving it in a better state than when the work very first started. Mike also sorted the building control side of the install for us, which was a big positive for us. I believe Mike is the 3rd or 4th generation Hatton to run the business, with his son also a part of the workforce. Overall, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Gordon Hatton & Co to anybody

Great service . Spoke to Mike around 12:30 explaining my issue .Jim was at our house just before 3:00pm , and sorted my drain within an hour, plus a full camera inspection to identify any more potential problems ( which there weren't any). Another fantastic family run local company providing the best service.

Our tank pump failed after 10+ years. Rang Mike and he attended very promptly. New pump sorted very quickly after tank had been emptied. All now working fine. Excellent service, very highly recommended.
This is my second time (Mar 2025) to commission Mike and his business to do the drainage work. Mike has got brilliant team: Lee and Barry are considerate, highly skilled, certainly top quality professionals in their field. The old Victorian manhole was replaced with a more compact system. New pave slabs were laid down properly. Site cleaned and courtyard sprayed. 3rd time (May 2025) to commission Gordon Hatton & Co to install a sump pump for my flooded Victorian cellar. Competent job was neatly done. What impressed me most is Mike's after work service: additional gully grid was added in Aug 2025. Mike responded quickly to my call and arranged the work within a week. No quibbles. Truly decent, honest, and respectable professionals. Sheer delight to work with.
