Lanes Drainage Services UK - Cardiff

Lanes Group began in 1992 as Lanes for Drains, a Leeds-based drain cleaning and repair specialist employing five people. Lanes Drainage Services UK has over 2000 staff across 20 operational depots. The Cardiff depot serves domestic and industrial clients from sectors including construction, civil engineering, railways, healthcare, and education. It covers areas including Swansea, Newport, Hereford, Rhondda, Barry, Bridgend, Cwmbran, Merthyr Tydfil and Caerffili.

Lanes Drainage Services UK offers drain unblocking, septic tank emptying, homebuyer drain surveys, CCTV drain surveying, sewer services, drain repairs and installations. Lanes uses CCTV drainage cameras to find the source of blockages. It provides complete drain and sewer services including repairing damage to pipes and drains as well as unblocking them. Lanes Group invested £200k in vehicle camera systems on 100 HGVs operating the Thames Water contract.

Cardiff customers needing drainage work describe a service that is professional, efficient and quick to respond, with same-day attendance emerging as a common thread. One account notes an engineer arriving on the day a blockage was reported, while another records a problem resolved in a matter of minutes. Reviewers also highlight how easy it was to arrange a visit, including a drains report prepared at short notice and hand-delivered to a mortgage company. Friendly, helpful advice given over the phone before any booking is mentioned as a sign of genuine expertise, and the standard of customer service is described as consistently high rather than a one-off.

Charges are repeatedly characterised as competitive given the speed of the work. The team based at Talbot Green is singled out for praise by name. Alongside drain clearance, the company covers septic tank and sewage disposal, waste management and utilities contracting, a range that reviewers appear to regard as evidence of real capability. A recurring impression is of jobs completed without fuss and clear communication maintained from the first enquiry through to completion.
